Newark Grows School Garden Mini-Grant
Grant Overview
This mini-grant program is supported through The Nourishing Newark Community Grants Program, a local funding opportunity developed to convene multiple sectors (non-profits, schools, urban farmers, community gardeners, and others) to work collectively and pool resources to more effectively fight food insecurity in our community.
Through this mini-grant program, Greater Newark Conservancy will award Newark public or charter schools between $500-$1,500 to go towards starting or enhancing a school garden / outdoor learning classroom.
Greater Newark Conservancy fosters collaboration in our community at the intersection of environmental, food, and racial justice to promote the health and well being of Newark residents. Our programs work to reverse the long history of systemic racism to improve social determinants of health by expanding access to green spaces, nutritious food, wellness education, and youth development.
