Second Saturday
A Wild Walk Through Winter
When the weather gets colder, humans often choose to spend more time indoors. Most animals can’t make that choice. How do animals survive and thrive in winter? What can we learn from them?
We will be getting busy and staying warm outdoors while learning about winter. We will:
Learn about different approaches animals take to survive the cold in winter and look for signs of these differences in the garden.
See and touch animal pelts and learn about how fur works to keep animals cozy.
Make a pinecone birdfeeder as a gift to the birds in the garden or birds near your home.
Taste some warm winter treats.
Time: 11am-12:30pm (note different from last month)
Location: 32 Prince Street--outdoors, come dressed for the weather. (Masks required)
